LANCASTER, SC:::::::::: Mr. John Jason Jay Funderburk, age 29, died Thursday, May 27, 2016 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born January 13, 1987 in Lancaster, a son of Joseph E. Joe Funderburk, Jr. and the late Jane Willis Funderburk. Jay loved Gamecock sports. He enjoyed music and played guitar, drums and keyboard. He was a golfer and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Funderburk is survived by his father, Joe Funderburk of Lake Wateree; his paternal grandmother, Fran Funderburk of Lancaster; a brother, Joseph Willis Funderburk and his wife, Brittani of Lancaster; a sister, Jill Funderburk Vaughn and her husband, Jason of Simpsonville; and five nieces and nephews, Liam and Laila Funderburk and Ava Jane, Aaden and Lynch Vaughn.

Mr. Funderburk was preceded in death by his mother; Jane Willis Funderburk; his maternal grandparents, John and Eldred Sissy Willis; his paternal grandfather, Joe Funderburk, Sr. and his maternal great grandmother, Mary Dandy McKee.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Jay will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Michael Anderson.
