LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mr. John Donald Mungo, age 79, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born August 6, 1935 in Lancaster County, the son of the late John B. Mungo and Dessie Mungo and was the husband of the late Ona-Mae Threatt Mungo. Mr. Mungo previously worked for Wilson Gas & Oil Company, was a Mason with the Antioch Masonic Lodge #339 for more than 60 years and was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

Mr. Mungo is survived by a son, Steven G. Mungo and his wife Clara of Lancaster; a special friend, Peggy Joyner of Lancaster; a step-daughter, Beth Doster; a sister, Betty Bratton both of Lancaster, and two step-grandchildren.

Mr. Mungo was preceded in death by a brother, Furman Mungo.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Mungo will be 3:00 pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church by Rev. Jessie Adams. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the church and in lieu of flowers, suggest memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church Freedom Fund, 133 S. Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
