LANCASTER, SC::::::::::Mr. John Chalmers Plyler, age 83, of 967 Hilldale Drive, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home. He was born April 6, 1926 in Lancaster, the son of the late John Baxter Plyler and Ada Parks Plyler and was the husband of Mary Hagins Plyler. Mr. Plyler was in the automobile business for 62 years with Plyler's Used Cars and Plyler Auto Sales and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. Plyler is survived by his wife, Mary Hagins Plyler, a son, John C. Plyler, Jr. and his wife Anne of Lancaster, three daughters, Sandra P. Cantwell and her husband John of Aiken, Jan P. Baskins and her husband Larry of Great Falls, and Carole P. Bundy and her husband Chuck Bundy, Jr. of Columbia, a sister in law, Matrell Plyler of Lancaster, and seven grandchildren, Michael Plyler of Columbia, Paul Baker and his wife Tonya also of Columbia, David Baker of Los Angeles, CA, Laura Cantwell of Tallahassee, FL, Walter Cantwell of Durham, NC, and Elizabeth Bundy and Kathryn Bundy both of Clemson, SC.Mr. Plyler was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Plyler, Drennon Plyler, Leighton Plyler and Lewis Plyler, and a sister, Leona Haigler.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Plyler will be 11:00 am, Monday morning, February 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Dan Batson with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
