LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. John Henry Adams, age 91, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the White Oak Manor.  He was born April 29, 1928 in Chesterfield, SC, a son of the late Henry B. Adams and Laura Mills Adams and was the devoted husband to the late Cornelia Roberts Adams. Mr. Adams was retired from Springs Industries.  He loved his family, farming, gardening, plumbing and working with his hands.  Mr. Adams was Past Master at Camp Creek Masonic Lodge.  He was a member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and worked with the youth.

Mr. Adams is survived by his son, John Kevin Adams and his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Teresa Adams Eubanks and her husband, Kenneth; four grandchildren, Trina Aldridge and her husband, Chris, J.C. Eubanks and his wife, Whitney, Jonathan Eubanks and his wife, Autumn, and Alexa Adams; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Harkey and her husband, W.L, and Mary Ellen Hancock of Florida; a sister-in-law, Katie Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Cornelia Adams; his parents; two brothers, Carson Adams and Dillon Adams; and four sisters, Sarah Jackson, Louise McAteer, Lola Bigham, and Eutha Gay.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Adams will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Glenwood Heights Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Daniel Porter.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720 and suggest memorial contributions be made to Glenwood Heights Baptist Church, 600 Nichols Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
