CHESTER, SC – Mr. Joseph "Joey" Dwayne Britt, age 54, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022. He was born April 1, 1968, in Marion, SC, the son of Joseph Carson Britt and Betty Jean Nobles Britt and was the husband of Clarissa Bates Britt. Joey enjoyed traveling, eating, sleeping, playing golf, and collecting and reading comic books. He was employed with Pepsi Bottling Company as a deliverer and stocker. His children were his life, and they will remember him as a wonderful dad who was very active in their lives. Joey had one granddaughter, Naomi, who he loved dearly.

Joey is survived by his wife, Clarissa Britt; two sons, Dakota Bates (Kaitlyn) and Thomas Britt; his daughter, Maddie Britt; his granddaughter, Naomi Bates; his parents, Joe and Betty Britt; two sisters, Michelle Britt and Melissa Parker (Steven Frank); two nephews, Cody Britt and Kirkland Newton; a niece, Southerlyn Parker; and extended family.

The Celebration of Life Service for Joey will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 25, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Brian Saxon and Dr. David Carlton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Burgess Funeral Home.
