LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Joel Cummings Horne, age 57, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, at his home. He was born August 8, 1964, in Lancaster, the son of Shelby Neal Horne and the late Hoyle C. Horne. Joel loved mechanic work, especially front-end alignments. He enjoyed farming, going out to eat, gardening, and watching westerns. Joel loved going to the beach and the mountains. Joel was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church.

Joel is survived by his mother, Shelby Neal Horne; two sisters, Lawana Bailey (Warren), and Renee Bauder (Paul); his brother, Tim Steele (Rhonda); two special cousins, Janice Scott, and Myra Lewis (Eddie); and a special aunt, Gladys Armstrong.

Joel was preceded in death by his father, Hoyle C. Horne.

The Celebration of Life Service for Joel will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Flint Ridge Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bobby Joyner, and Rev. Harry Scarborugh.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
