LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Joe Reece Knight, age 88, was called home to The Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lancaster, SC on October 7, 1937. He was the son of the late Johnie Knight Carnes and was the loving husband of the late Barbara Ann Carnes Knight.

Mr. Knight was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where his faith and love for his church family were an important part of his life. He found great joy in spending time on the farm, especially sitting beneath his favorite oak tree and taking in the beauty and peace of the place he loved. He also cherished time spent with his friends at the barn, where many good memories were made. Mr. Knight had a special passion for horses and enjoyed training, trading, and riding them throughout his life.

Mr. Knight leaves behind his son, David W. Knight (Deborah); his two grandchildren, Michael W. Knight (Meghann), and Julian C. Knight (Zoe); his brother, Douglas Carnes (Lisa); and his side-kick, Bill Adams.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Knight; and his mother, Johnie Knight Carnes.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Knight will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Patrick Blackmon.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the church fellowship hall.
