LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Joe Curtis Sanders, Jr., age 67, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022. He was born December 5, 1954, in Chester, a son of the late Joe Curtis Sanders, Sr. and Lottie Jerri Hunter Sanders and was the husband of Janet Carol Sanders.  Joe was a millwright and was previously employed with AME Corporation and Guy M. Turner Inc.  Joe loved camping, NASCAR racing and cruising the river.  He loved his family dearly, especially his great granddaughter, Jasmine.  Joe was a member of Catawba Baptist Church and served as Deacon.

Joe is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet Sanders; a son, Bobby Joe Sanders; a daughter, Dana Carole Sanders; three grandchildren, Morgan Small (Cody), Jordan Small and Joey Chase Sanders; a great granddaughter, Jasmine Small; a special nephew, Eugene Sanders and many other nieces and nephews; his father-in-law, Jack Adams; and his brother-in-law, Brian Adams.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter "Gene" Sanders and William "Bunk" Sanders and a sister, Brenda Sue Knight.

The Celebration of Life Service for Joe will be 11:00 am Thursday morning, November 17, 2022, at Catawba Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Danny Christopher.  A private entombment will be at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am Thursday in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to Catawba Baptist Church, 1144 Riverside Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
