LANCASTER, SC~Mr. Joe Frederick Estridge, age 86, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. He was born May 13, 1931 in Lancaster, a son of the late Ira Durham Estridge and Annie Carnes Estridge and was the husband of the late Joanne Cauthen Estridge. Mr. Estridge retired from Springs Industries as a supervisor. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Estridge was a Master Mason with Wannamaker Lodge for over 50 years. He enjoyed refurbishing furniture, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being with people. Mr. Estridge was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
Mr. Estridge is survived by a brother, Mr. Jack Estridge and his wife, Evelyn, of Lancaster; a sister, Mrs. W.C. (Mary) Carter of Chesterfield; one nephew, Russ Carter and his wife, Amy; four nieces, Lin Lake and her husband, Frank, Kathy Carter, Susan ONeal and her husband, Tony and Lisa Lucas; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
Mr. Estridge was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joanne Cauthen Estridge; and a brother, Ira Madison Estridge.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Estridge will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church by Rev. Larry King. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am- 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, and suggest memorial contributions be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 5908 Tabernacle Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
