LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Joan Willis Taylor, age 70, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2023, at MUSC Health- Lancaster Medical Center. She was born November 1, 1952, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Oliver Clifford Willis and Hazel Goodwin Willis and was the wife of Charles Michael "Mike" Taylor. Mrs. Joan loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, and vacationing to the beach and mountains.  Her fur baby, Sammy, brought her lots of joy. She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Joan is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mike Taylor; her sons, Rev. Cliff Henson (Anna), Micky Taylor (Paula), Marty Taylor (Kelly); four grandchildren, Emily Taylor Sistare (Dylan), Ashley Taylor, Noah Taylor, Molly Taylor; a great grandson, Grayson Henson; a brother, Shaler Willis (Patsy); two sisters, Kay Mackey and Nancy Latham; special friend since 4 years old, Wanda Faile; and a large extended family.

Mrs. Joan was preceded in death by her grandson, Caleb Henson; a son, Michael Taylor; her parents; a brother, Wayne Willis; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Bill Mackey and Bill Latham.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Joan will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Donnie Starnes and Rev. Cliff Henson.

The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Caleb Henson Memorial Fund, 1026 Songbird St. Lancaster, SC 29720.
