LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Joan Arlene Threatt Cleveland, age 78, passed away peacefully surround by her family, Sunday, September 22, 2019 at White Oak Manor.  She was born March 3, 1941 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late John Amos Threatt and Bernice Adams Threatt.  Mrs. Cleveland owned and operated Arlene's Beauty Shop in Fort Lawn for over 50 years. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandson and watching him play baseball.  Mrs. Cleveland "The Boss" loved her family, her Pastor and her church and church families at Taylors Grove Baptist Church and White Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed working on crafts and flower gardens. Mrs. Cleveland was a member at Taylors Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cleveland is survived by a daughter, Brenda Adams (Rick) of Fort Lawn; and three special sons, Mike Rollins of Indiana, Doug Cleveland of Concord, NC and Dan Cleveland of Kansas; a granddaughter, Carrie Catledge (Stephen); special grandchildren, David, Darrell, Dakota and Brandy; a great grandson, Austin; a brother, Johnny Threatt; two sisters, Joyce Airington (Albert), and Linda Smith (Claude), all of Fort Lawn; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Rogers, and Jeanette Boswell.

Mrs. Cleveland was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, David Rollins and Phil Cleveland; a brother, William Earl Threatt: and a sister, Martha Gardner.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Cleveland will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Taylors Grove Baptist Church, 2382 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC officiated by Rev. Tommy Howell and Rev. Wayne Snipes.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at her granddaughter's home, 542 Adams Lane, Lancaster, SC.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Taylors Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 2382 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
