LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Mayme Jo McAteer Robinson, age 88, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at her home.  She was born February 12, 1933, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Ernest Ervin McAteer and Ethel Louise McGuirt McAteer.  Ms. Robinson was a very talented pianist and organist.  She enjoyed reading and doing word search books.  Her family was very important to her, and she loved them dearly.  Ms. Robinson was a member of Shiloh ARP church where she was one of the first female deacons and she was very active in the women's society.

Ms. Robinson is survived by her son, Kevin Robinson (Melinda) of Kentucky; three grandchildren, Carolina, Sierra, and Seth Robinson; two very special nieces (caregivers), Laura Everall, and Dianne Snipes; a very special nephew (caregiver), John Snipes; and a loved large extended family.

Ms. Robinson was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Coleman, James, Andrew B., Lewis, Ervin, and Hayward McAteer; and five sisters, Idell Belk, Elizabeth Gordon, Etta Hinson, Oveta Everall, and Doris Lemmond.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Ms. Robinson will be 11:00 am Friday, July 23, 2021, at Shiloh ARP Church officiated by Rev. Mark Miller and Rev. Sheldon Green.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Burgess Funeral Home.  A special thank you to her caregivers, Nancy Rushing, Linda Jordan, Dianne Stewart, Melinda Threatt, Barbara Miller, and Nancy Stegall, for the love and compassion shown to Ms. Robinson.
