GREAT FALLS, SC – Mr. James "Jimmy" Emmett Wilson, Jr., age 70, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at MUSC-Lancaster. He was born September 27, 1954, in Chester, SC, a son of the late James Emmett Wilson, Sr. and the late Mary Lou Osborne Wilson and was the loving husband of Trudy Susan Roof Wilson. Mr. Wilson graduated from Great Falls High School where he was a well-known athlete. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid Carolina Gamecock Fan. Mr. Wilson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Great Falls, SC.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 51 years, Trudy Wilson; his two sisters, Emmie Lewis, and Wanda Capps (Charles); his former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Kelly George (Ralph); and many special nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Corporal James "Jamie" Everett Wilson; his parents, James and Mary Wilson; and two sisters, Gail Dixon, and Kathy Lewis.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Luke Dickson.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 6924 Wateree Rd. Great Falls, SC 29055.
