He was born in Lancaster, SC, on December 28, 1943, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Simcox and the late Mildred Caskey Simcox and was the loving and devoted husband of Barbara Jean Horton Simcox.

Mr. Simcox was a devoted member of Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, where his faith and love for his church family were an important part of his life. He faithfully served as a Deacon and Treasurer for more than 30 years, giving of his time and talents in service to others. Helping others was truly his ministry, and he never hesitated to step in whenever someone was in need. Throughout his life, he lovingly cared for many members of his family, including his parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
