LANCASTER, SC – Ms. Jimmie Lane Baker Croxton, age 81, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021.  She was born June 10, 1939 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Samuel Eugene "Jutt" Baker and Ora Lee Small Baker.  Jimmie is survived by her daughters, Regina Croxton and Melanie Potoka; two grandsons, Gerald K. Potoka, III, and Chase Potoka; a sister, Jeanne B. Rogers (William B. "Bill"); her first cousin, Betty Ross Carter (Phil); and a special "grandson", Jason Chandler.

Jimmie deeply loved her daughters, her grandsons, and her many special friends and neighbors.  Most importantly, Jimmie loved Jesus and she lived a life that reflected her relationship with Him.  Jimmie was well-known for her love of animals.  Her dogs, Skylar, Pepper and Ernie, were like her children, and held a special place in her heart.  Jimmie never met a stranger.  One of the greatest desires of her heart was to help those in need.  If she was ever made aware of a need, she was on "mission" to fill it.  Jimmie lived a very other-centered life and, whether it was cards or gifts or baked goods or meals, she found her greatest joy in bringing joy to the lives of those around her.  She loved taking pictures at every occasion, and left her family with many photos of the special moments she captured.  Jimmie was a gift to all those who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.

The Celebration of Life Service for Jimmie will be 3:00pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Gerald K. Potoka, Sr.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
