LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. James "Jim" Howard Miner, age 82, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation.  He was born August 2, 1938 in Keokuk, Iowa, a son of the late Kenneth Howard Miner and Adelaine Isabelle Breitenbucher Miner.  Jim married his high school sweetheart, Loretta "Jean" Watson Miner and they spent 61 years together.  Jim retired from Thomas and Betts in 2000.  Jim loved tinkering in the garage and was able to fix anything.  He was detail oriented in everything he did.  Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Miner is survived by his wife, Jean Miner; three daughters, Teresa Miner of St. Augustine, FL, Cheri Pius (Glenn) of St. Augustine, FL; and Michelle Reece (Matthew) of Lancaster; and four grandchildren, Caleb Reece, Sydney Reece, Ethan Pius, and Hannah Pius.

Mr. Miner was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Miner will be 4:00 pm Monday, November 9, 2020 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Larry Helm.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, SC Chapter, 901 S. Pine Street, Lower Level, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
