LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. James "Jim" Kenneth Lucas, age 71, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation.  He was born on November 12, 1948 in Lancaster, a son of the late James Lytle Lucas and Geneva Elizabeth Harrellson Lucas and was the husband of Deborah "Debbie" McAteer Lucas.  Mr. Lucas enjoyed playing board games with his grandsons.  He was very proud of his granddaughters.  Breakfast every morning at Crossroads Grill with Debbie and his friends was the highlight of Jim's day.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Mr. Lucas was a member of White Springs Baptist Church where he ran the sound system for over 10 years.

Mr. Lucas is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debbie Lucas; a son, Cullen Ray McNeil (Desiree) of Monroe, NC; a daughter, Lana Shute of Lancaster, five grandchildren, Brianna McNeil, Ashley McNeil, Gabe Shute, Jonah Shute, and Dylan Shute; and two brothers, Carroll Lucas (Frances) of Lancaster, and Charles Lucas (Carol) of Ohio.

Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his parents; and a son-in-law, Kevin Shute.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Lucas will be 2:00 pm Sunday, November 8, 2020 at White Springs Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Brad Threatt.  Burial will follow at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the church family life center.  Donations may be made in Jim's name to White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Ave., Lancaster, SC 29720.
