LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Ms. Jewel Leigh Hefner Funderburk, age 50, died Friday, June 17, 2016. She was born, February 27, 1966 in Chester County, a daughter of Mildred Desiree Sinclair and the late Robert Hefner. Jewel was a very creative person. She enjoyed restoring old things and creating something from nothing. She loved her family and friends especially her grandchildren. Jewel loved painting, gardening, dancing, music, traveling to the beach, and spending time with her family. Jewel was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Jewel is survived by her mother, Mildred Sinclair; two sons, Wesley Funderburk and Justin Funderburk and his wife, Karmen; a daughter, Whitney Funderburk; a brother, Timmy Sinclair; three sisters, Sonya Clark, Robin Miller and Carla Patrick; four grandchildren, Keyleigh Grace Funderburk, Timothy Jace Funderburk, Nola Harper Funderburk and Isaiah Jaheim Green; a special friend, Dennis Beckham; and numerous aunts and uncles and a very loving family.

Jewel was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hefner.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Jewel will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Oak Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Thurmond Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 8:00 pm, Monday, June 20, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720 and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
