LANCASTER, SC::::::::::::: Mrs. Jessie Faye Brazell Vaughn, age 90, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Lancaster Convalescent Center where she was a resident. She was born July 26, 1918 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Wylie Jessie Brazell, maternal mother Idell Croxton Brazell and raised by the late Alice White Brazell. Mrs. Vaughn was the wife of the late Clifford Lee Vaughn. She was a retired Cafeteria worker for Dobson Elementary School and a member of Springdell Baptist Church. Mrs. Vaughn was survived by 4 sons, Jessie C. Vaughn and his wife Iva Lee and Wylie Gene Vaughn and his wife Acelia both of Lancaster, Hazel Jackson Vaughn and his wife Constance and Timothy Vaughn both of Little River, SC; 2 brothers, Thomas Benjamin Brazell and his wife Edith and Clyde Richard Brazell and his wife Emily both of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Katherine Monroe and Mary Ann Baker both of Lancaster, 12 grandchildren; Donald and David Vaughn, Crystal Carnes, Wylie Vaughn, Jr., Tony Vaughn, Melinda Woodhurst, Dawn Mullis, Joan Walden, Andrew and Allison Vaughn, Tandy Rattlesdorfer and Lynn Vaughn, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by a son, George Lee Vaughn, a brother, Wylie Brazell, Jr. and a sister, Bernice Vaughn. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Vaughn will be 2:00 pm, Friday January 30, 2009 at Springdell Baptist Church by Rev. Donald Tillman and Rev. Jerry DeVenney with burial to follow Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Vaughn will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Springdell Baptist Church Building Fund, 1420 Springdell Church Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
