LANCASTER, SCMr. Jesse Crenshaw, age 88, died Saturday, November 26, 2016 at his home. He was born November 27, 1927 in Lancaster County, a son of the late Luther McDuffie Crenshaw and Bertha Brazell Crenshaw and was the husband of the late Janett Haile Crenshaw. Mr. Crenshaw was co-owner of Crenshaw Brothers Construction with brothers Layton and Roddy. He loved Clemson football and enjoyed gardening and sharing his bounty with others. Upon retirement, he and Janett enjoyed spending time with their only grandchild, Anna. He served our country in the United States Army and received the Japanese Occupational Medal. Mr. Crenshaw was a member of Oakridge A.R.P. Church. He spent his entire adult life serving in the church as an officer, Deacon, Elder and currently served as Elder Emeritus.
Mr. Crenshaw is survived by a son, Tony Crenshaw and his wife Debbie; a daughter, Linda Mungo and her husband Phillip both of Lancaster; and one granddaughter, Anna Mungo of Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ray Crenshaw, Layton Crenshaw, Roddy Crenshaw, and Billy Crenshaw; and two sisters, Maggielene Phillips and Theresa Hinson.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Crenshaw will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Oakridge A.R.P. Church by Rev. Glenn Welsford. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 3:00 pm, Tuesday in the Family Life Center and suggest memorials be made to Oakridge A.R.P. Church, 2774 McIlwain Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058 or to Regency Hospice, 250 Piedmont Boulevard, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
