LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Jerry Snipes Knight, age 82, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born February 15, 1933 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Milas Wilson Snipes and Almetta Adams Snipes and was the wife of David Glynn Knight, Sr. Mrs. Knight retired from Lancaster County Family Court and was a member of Rich Hill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Knight is survived by her husband, David Glynn Knight, Sr., two sons, David G. Knight, Jr. and his wife Susan and Bill Knight and his wife Peggy both of Lancaster; daughters, Deborah K. Starnes and her husband Richard of Chesterfield, VA, Amy V. Knight and Lisa Elizardo of Mineral, VA; a brother, Jimmy Snipes and his wife Mary Ann of Moncks Corner; a sister, Shirley S. Tharpe of The Villages, FL; nine grandchildren, Ellen Virtue and her husband Matt, Mamie Simmons and her husband Thomas, Hammond Knight, Dylan Knight, Mandy Sharp and her husband Louis, Luke Knight and his wife Tina, Kevin Knight and his wife Tiffany, Ashley Knickerbocker and her husband David and Jeremy Starnes and his wife Meredith; and nine great grandchildren, Bowden and Emory Catherine Virtue, Emma Simmons, Kensie and Caroline Sharp, Nathan, Justis and Joshua Knickerbocker and Laeklyn Starnes.

Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Snipes.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Knight will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Rich Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Rod Yow and Dr. Edwin Bagley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Ministries Building and suggest memorial contributions be made to Rich Hill Baptist Church Hand Bell Choir, 1557 E. Doc Garris Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.
