LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Jerry Dean Baker, age 77, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021.  He was born August 1, 1943, in York County, a son of the late Buford Baker and Aline Hough Baker.  Jerry attended Buford High School, was a retired farmer, and retired from Grace Bleachery after 46 years.  He loved sharing the produce that he grew on his farm, and he enjoyed going to the mountains.  Jerry was a simple man with a dry sense of humor.

Jerry is survived by his son, Bryan Baker; two daughters, Susan "DeeDee" Baker, and Jennifer Neely (Tim); six granddaughters, Ashley Taylor (Justin), Raylee Baker (Jamie Sistare), Marissa Hodges (Brent), Kelsey Robinson (David), Chantleigh Richardson (Adam), and Kayson Baker; seven great grandchildren, Jayden Belcher, Jayleigh Taylor, Ryder Richardson, Hayes Robinson, Braylin Hodges, Collins Hodges, and Sutton Richardson; two brothers, Carson Baker (Ann Marie Valienti-Prociola), and Jimmy Baker; two sisters, Delores Snipes (Charles), and JoAnn Baker Steele; two daughters-in-law, Tammy Johnson Baker, and Shannon Powers Mackey; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by two sons, Dean Baker, and Jason Baker; a grandson, Jeremy Baker; his parents; a brother, Rex Baker; an infant sister, Dianne Baker; a brother-in-law, Wayne Steele; and a sister-in-law, Dianne Baker.

The Celebration of Life Service for Jerry will be 12:00 pm Thursday, June 3, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.  Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 12:00 pm, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Burgess Funeral Home.
