LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Jean Baker Strickland, age 69, of 1871 Tara Trail died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at her home. She was born August 11, 1942 in Dunn NC, the daughter of the late Melvin L. Baker and Linnie Morgan Baker and was the wife of William "Tom" Strickland. She retired as a office manager, was a member of the Lancaster Women Golf Club, and The Church 0f The Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband William "Tom" Strickland, Jr. of the home, a son, Kirk Strickland of Indian Land and 4 grandchildren. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by a son, William "Bill" Strickland III.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Strickland will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Green and Rev. Marie Knuckles officiating. The Family of Mrs. Strickland will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Lancaster, 902 West Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.
