LANCASTER, SC :::::::::::Mrs. Jean Player Phillips, age 84, of 404 N. Main Street, died January 31, 2012 at Piedmont Medical Center. She was born March 30, 1927 in Kershaw County, the daughter of the late Nick Gardner and Emma Byrd Gardner and was the wife of the late Gerald Phillips. Mrs. Phillips was a hair stylist and owner of Jean's Beauty Shop for over 60 years and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Phillips is survived by 2 brothers, Jim Robinson and his wife Iris and Rocky Robinson and his wife Barbara, and a sister, Peggy Sigmon all of Lancaster, several nieces and nephews, and a host of special friends and customers that she considered family. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Phillips will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, February 2, 2012 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Tim Anderson and Jason Vance.
