Obituary

LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Jean Graham Kennington, age 74, went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born in Conway, SC, the daughter of the late James Woodrow Graham and Elnita Huggins Graham Hucks. Mrs. Kennington was married to the late William Steve Kennington for 50 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Kennington retired from Springs Industries, Frances Plant after 40 years of service. She was a former member of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, youth leader, mentor, and also served on the deacon board. Most recently, she faithfully attended Landmark Pentecostal Holiness Church in Kershaw. Mrs. Kennington volunteered at Springs Memorial Hospital and enjoyed floral design, cake decorating, gardening and was a great seamstress.

Mrs. Kennington is survived by 2 daughters, Becky K. Lowery and her husband Reggie and Sharon K. Moore both of Lancaster, 2 brothers, Randolph Graham and his wife Christine of Lancaster and Larry Graham of Conway, SC, 1 sister, Marilyn Skipper and her husband Bennie of Myrtle Beach, SC, 5 grandchildren, Leslie Ghent, Janna Jones and her husband Cory, Ashley Green and her husband Mike, Stephen Hinson and Christopher Moore, and 7 great grandchildren, Brandon, Bree, Brayden, Jaxon, Mykah, Emma Grace and Abigail.

Mrs. Kennington was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Paul Graham and Ray Graham.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Kennington will be 3:00 pm, Monday afternoon, February 25, 2013 at The Chapel of Hartley-Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Larry Hancock. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Kennington will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Hartley - Burgess Funeral Home and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Progresssive Supranuclear Palsy, Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0888, or Landmark Pentecostal Holiness Church,Outreach Missions, 5051 Flat Creek Road, Heath Springs, SC 29058.

The Family will be at the home of her daughter, Becky Lowery, 2302 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster.
