LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Mary Jean Hensley, age 83, passed away Friday, February 12,2021 at MUSC Health-Lancaster Medical Center. She was born December 16, 1937 in Mooresville, NC, a daughter of the late Lewis J. Hicks and Ethel Newton Hicks, and the wife of John Hensley of 66 years. Jean loved her husband and son dearly, as well as her extended family. She was very dedicated to her love of Christ and enjoyed singing in the choir at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. Jean and John were also avid travelers/cruisers.

Mrs. Hensley is survived by her husband, John Hensley; a son, Ron Hensley of Australia; and a sister Joy Franklin. Mrs. Hensley was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Donald Hicks, Billy Hicks, Charles Hicks, and Paul Hicks.

The celebration of life service for Mrs. Hensley will be 11:00 on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Jessie Adams.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Social distancing will be practiced, and masks are required.
