LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. James Breece "JB" Stogner, Jr., age 74, passed away May 22, 2020. He was born November 4, 1945, a son of the late James Breece Stogner, Sr. and Owecie Helms Stogner and was the husband of Judy Flynn Stogner. Mr. Stogner proudly served his country in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam and was Special Forces. He was a soldier's soldier. He was a telephone man being employed with AT&T as an engineer. Mr. Stogner enjoyed sitting on the deck at Murrells Inlet, rocking, playing golf, camping, watching the birds and squirrels, singing, and playing the guitar. He was everyone's go to man for fixing anything and he was a perfectionist. Mr. Stogner was an intelligent, caring, fun guy who loved helping others, and was an anchor in the storms of life. He loved God, his country, his family and friends and his personality was larger than life. Firm in his beliefs and did not waiver from them. He not only leaves behind his family, but also his loving fur baby, Maggie Mae. Mr. Stogner was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, singing solos with feeling and gusto.
Mr. Stogner is survived by his wife of 38 years, Judy Stogner; his son, Ashley Sistare; two daughters, Katti Granville (Greg) of Lawrenceville, GA, and Charlotte McDowell (Phil); and four grandchildren, Haley Granville, Adam Granville, Dillon McDowell, and Morgan McDowell.
Mr. Stogner was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Cody Faulkenberry.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
