HEATH SPRINGS, SC ~ Mrs. Janie Stacks Bruce, age 96, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at CMC-Pineville. She was born April 25, 1922 in Pageland, SC, a daughter of the late John Luther Marion Stacks and Lula Taylor Stacks and was the wife of the late James Baldwin Bruce. Mrs. Bruce was a member of Heath Springs Baptist Church. She loved her family and loved her church.

Mrs. Bruce is survived by a sister, Cleo Stacks Robinson of Lancaster and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Emily Elizabeth Bruce; a son, James B. Jimmy Bruce, Jr.; three brothers; and four sisters.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Bruce is 3:00 pm Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Heath Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Frankie Melton. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 3:00 pm, in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
