Obituary
LANCASTER, SC:::::::Mrs. Janice Shuford Martin, age 75, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. She was born July 1, 1940 in Lincolnton, NC, the daughter of the late Robert Lawrence Shuford and Helen Camp Shuford and was the wife of the late Thomas Wilson Martin, Sr. Mrs. Martin retired from Springs Industries. She was an office clerk in the H. W. Close office. She loved to travel. The beach was her favorite place to relax. She enjoyed working in her yard and seeing her flowers bloom. She loved her family and especially her grandson. Mrs. Martin is of the Methodist faith and a member of Saint Luke United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Martin is survived by two sons, Tommy "Woody" Martin, Jr. and Daniel Lee "Danny" Martin and his wife, Bridget; two sisters, Linda Billings and her husband, Harold and Katherine Donkle of Richmond, VA.; and a grandson, Alex Lee Martin.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen Shuford, her husband, Tommy Martin; a brother, Robert Shuford.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Martin will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Saint Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill McCown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary and at other times at her home, 591 Community Lane and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Saint Luke United Methodist Church Building Fund, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
