INDIAN LAND, SC::::::::::Mrs. Janette Griffin Therrell Ard, age 81, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016. She was born September 7, 1934 in Fort Mill, SC, a daughter of the late Cleatus Herbert Griffin and Cungetar Moody Griffin. She was a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed reading, word search books, playing Bingo and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ard is survived by a daughter, Teresa T. Miller and her husband, Larry of Lancaster; a son, Gary W. Therrell of Saluda; a brother, Raymond Griffin of Garden City; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ard was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Griffin, Jr. and a great granddaughter, Haylee Miller.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Ard will be 3:00 pm Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the family home in Indian Land.
