FORT LAWN, SC:::::Mrs. Janet Stevens Sims, age 52, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at her home. She was born December 22, 1964 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of Ray Stevens and Kathryn LeFaye Truett Stevens and was the wife of the late Richard Sims, Jr. Mrs. Sims was of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Mrs. Sims is survived by a son, James Douglas Plyler and his wife, Brandi of Lancaster; her special friend, Carol McManus; a brother, Jeffery Ray Stevens of Lancaster; three sisters, Pam Dobbins of Heath Springs, Theresa Johnson of Lancaster and Samantha Sigmon of Great Falls and one grandchild.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Richard Sims III and a sister, Belva Langley.

The Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Sims will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Calvin Snipes. Memorials may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, 421 Mission Court, Irmo, SC 29063.
