LANCASTER Jane Elizabeth LIB White Barr passed away March 3, 2017, she was born September 3, 1924 in Lancaster County, South Carolina, the daughter of William Baxter Sr. and Hattie Jane Caskey White. Mrs. Barr was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and a retired Belk Department employee.

Mrs. Barr is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Barr Adams and her husband, Richard, and Brenda Barr Jones and her late husband, Dr. Franklin Douglas Jones; four grandchildren, Kristin Jones Valori and husband Peter, Ashley Adams Clinard and husband Matt, David Jones and wife Dr. Carly Morrison-Jones, and Katherine Adams Howard and husband Jason; five great grandchildren; a sister, Julia Ann White Whitaker; and brother Donald Lewis White.

Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Hampton Barr, Jr. and brothers, Thomas Allen White, Charles Marion White, and William Baxter White Jr.

Visitation will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1 PM, service will follow at 2 PM. Burial will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Service and burial will be conducted by Rev. David Inman. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, 3734 Heyward Hough Road, Lancaster SC, 29720 or Community Care and Hospice, 533 South Fayetteville Street, Asheboro NC 27203.
