LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. James Horace Watts, Jr., age 63, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home. He was born May 17, 1955 in Monroe, NC, a son of Martha Faile Watts and the late James Horace Watts, Sr. and was the husband of the late Susie Johnson Watts. He was the owner of Watts Construction. Horace helped employ many, including family. He was always good to his employees and took care of them. Horace was a jokester and enjoyed playing tricks on people. He enjoyed working with his hands and building things. Horace was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Horace is survived by his mother, Martha Watts; three sons, Tripp Watts (Savannah) of Rock Hill, James Chance Watts of the home, and Mitchell Catoe of Clarksville, TN; two daughters, Brandy Watts of Lancaster and Anna Thames (Trey) of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Bentlee James and Neely Ann Watts, Callie, Oliver, and Grayson Thames, and Brody and Nash Catoe; his father and mother-in-law, Rev. Thurmond and Milbry Johnson; a niece, Wendy Snipes; a nephew, Jamey Roberts (Stephanie); and many great nieces and nephews.

Horace was preceded in death by wife, Susie Watts; his father, James Horace Watts, Sr.; a sister, Cathy Watts Roberts; and a niece, Lori Bundy Blackmon.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Watts will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Thurmond Johnson and Rev. Robin Hewitt.
