LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. James Jim Walden, 72, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born December 8, 1945 in Monroe, NC, a son of the late John Lucas Johnnie Walden and Dorothy Griffin Walden. He was the husband of Sarah Thomas Walden. Mr. Walden enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, restoring old cars, golfing, and watching NASCAR. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Walden was a member of Canaan Freewill Baptist Church.

Mr. Walden is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sarah Walden; a son, James H. Walden II and his wife, Heather, of Heath Springs; a daughter, Shelia Walden Jenkins; five grandchildren, Corey Jenkins, Madison Jenkins, Easton Walden, Cullen Walden, Diesel Walden; two brothers, Jerry Walden and Mike Walden; and a sister, Jo Ann Fisher.

Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Colton Walden; a brother, Johnny Walden; and a sister, Patsy Funderburk.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Walden will be 2:00 pm Monday, October 15, 2018 at Canaan Freewill Baptist Church by Rev. Mitch Gulledge and Rev. Cotton Pate. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
