HEATH SPRINGS, SC ::::::::::Mr. James "Bud" Willie Roberts, age 84, of 2052 Flint Ridge Road, died Sunday morning, October 12, 2008 at his home. He was born June 26, 1924 in Kershaw County, the son of the late Lewis Roberts and Minnie Knight Roberts and was the husband of the late Mary Edna Roberts. Mr. Roberts retired from Bowater, was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church, and served our great country in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Roberts is survived by 2 sons, James Weldon Roberts and his wife Aileen and Russell Steven Roberts and his wife Linda all of Heath Springs, 2 daughters, Sylvia Atkins and her fiance' Patrick Harmon of Myrtle Beach and Jean Faulkenberry and her husband Dan of Fort Lawn, a sister, Nannie Ruth Bowling of Kershaw, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Melvin Roberts, Robbie Roberts, Elmer Roberts and 2 sisters, Susie Horton and Hilda Faulkenberry.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Roberts will be 4:00 pm, Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2008 at Flint Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Kelvin Hinson and Rev. George Brasington with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mr. Roberts will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday evening, October 13, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Carolina, 412 N.
