CHARLOTTE, NC – Mr. James Lynn Plyler, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024. He was born June 14, 1945, in Lancaster, SC, a son of Hugh Columbus Plyler and Dera Lorenna Hammond Plyler.

Mr. Plyler is survived by his son, Matthew Plyler and wife Jennifer of Charlotte, NC; his daughter, Julie Leatherwood and husband Dale of Lake Mary, FL; his grandchildren, Ashleigh Plyler of Charlotte, NC; Dale Jr. and Benjamin Leatherwood of Lake Mary, FL; his sister, Mary Rose McCants of Kannapolis, NC; his sister Jean Pardue and husband Bobby of Lancaster, SC; and his sister-in-law, Susan Plyler of Lancaster, SC.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Dera Plyler; his brother, Paul Plyler; his grandson, Gavin Plyler; and his nephew, Jason Plyler.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27th from 6-8 p.m. at Burgess Funeral Home and Crematory, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 4th, 2025 at Rich Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
