LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mr. James Howard Peach, age 68, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at his home. He was born November 1, 1946 in Lancaster County, the son of the late James William Peach and Maletta Baker Peach and was the husband of Alice Brasington Peach. Mr. Peach retired from Springs Industries - Grace Bleachery and served our great country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His grandchildren were his heart. He had many nieces and nephews that he adored. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Peach is survived by his wife, Alice Peach, a son, James Michael Peach and his wife Melissa, a daughter, April Ladell Rutledge and her husband John Jr., of Lancaster, three grandchildren, Kagan Rutledge, Bracie Rutledge and Karlie Peach, two brothers, Carlton Peach and his wife Libby, and J.B. Peach and his wife Hazel of Lancaster, a sister Elaine Williams and her husband Ronnie of McCormick, South Carolina.
Mr. Peach was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Broadus and Emily Peach, his maternal grandparents, Bertha and Julius Baker, a grandson, Derrick Peach and a sister, Brenda Moree.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Peach will be 3:00 pm Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. George Brasington, and Rev. Jessie Adams. Burial will follow at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends before the service from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Monday, at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church Freedom Fund, 133 South Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
