Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. James C. "Jimmy" McWaters, age 73, of 2067 Great Falls Hwy, died Saturday morning, October 18, 2008. He was born in Great Falls, SC, the son of Mildred Caskey McWaters and the late W.A. McWaters and was the husband of Elaine DeWeese McWaters. Mr. McWaters, a graduate of University of South Carolina with a BS in Accounting, was a merchant and owner of Sears in Pageland for 23 years, and a U-Haul Dealer in Lancaster for 15 years. He was also a member of the Gamecock Club, a member of the Moose Lodge, First Baptist Church and served our great country in the United States Army. Mr. McWaters was survived by his mother, Mildred Caskey McWaters of Lancaster, his wife, Elaine D. McWaters of the home, 3 sons, Jim C. McWaters and his wife Shannon of Lexington, Brian W. McWaters of Lancaster, Scott M. McWaters and his wife Carrie of Atlanta, 2 sisters, Mary Ann M. Wade of Lexington, and Nancy Crolley of Lancaster, and 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Drew, Sarah, DeLaney and Millie McWaters.Mr. McWaters was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby W. McWaters.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. McWaters will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2008 at First Baptist Church by Rev. John Elmore and Rev. David Pace with entombment to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Family of Mr. McWaters will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday evening, October 20, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 902 W. Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.The family of Mr. McWaters will be at the home of Bernice Mackey, 601 N. Wylie Street, Lancaster.
