LANCASTER, SC ~ James Barry McManus, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home.  James was born April 30, 1952 in Lancaster, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late James Harold McManus and Margie Rushing McManus. He was the husband of Barbara Knight McManus. James was an avid lifetime Clemson Tiger fan who very rarely missed a home game. He was an IPTAY member for 40 years. He loved to fish and to have successful days on the lake. James loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his jet ski and riding his grandchildren on the four-wheeler. James was always on the go, he loved social gatherings and was the glue that held everything together. He taught his family to enjoy life's smallest moments, even in the hard times. James fought like a tiger through all of life's challenges he faced. James was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. He loved all of his family and friends but had a special love for his eight grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife of 22 years, Barbara Knight McManus; two daughters, Monica McManus Bennett (Larry) of Lancaster, SC, and Mandy McManus Laney (Zegilor) of North Charleston, SC; two bonus daughters, Michelle Preston (Ken), and Susan Golder, both of Rock Hill, SC; a brother, Steve McManus (Joyce) of Fort Mill, SC; two sisters, Kelsey Carter (Richard) of Lancaster, SC, and Judy Taylor (Dick) of Plant City, Florida; and eight grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, Addison, Benson, Landon, Cohen, Quentin, and Caston.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margie McManus.
