Obituary

LANCASTER, SCMr. James Franklin John Henry Sistare, age 85, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at CMC Main in Charlotte, NC. He was born March 25, 1931 in Lancaster, SC, the son of the late Carl Frank Sistare and Melita Stogner Sistare and was the husband of Joan Wallace Sistare, whom he loved dearly. Mr. Sistare retired from two careers, the Pepsi Cola Company and as The Jailer of Lancaster County Sheriffs Office. Mr. Sistare served our great country, honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Jackson Shrine Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and hanging out at Worms place. He loved farming and riding his John Deere tractor. His great-grandchildren stole his heart along with a mans best friend Pete his dog. Mr. Sistare was a very active and charter member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan Wallace Sistare; a son, Gene F. Sistare and his wife, Janis; a daughter, Judy Sistare Glenn and her husband, Larry; four brothers, Buck Sistare, and his wife, Mary Brown, Bobby Bob Sistare, Joe Falcon and his wife, Mary of TN and Billy Sistare of Rock Hill, SC; five sisters, Carolyn Teeny Sistare Valdez of Rock Hill, Evelyn Louise Sis Hyatt of Lando, SC, Elizabeth Sistare Ligon and her husband, Daniel of Indian Trail, NC., Debra Sistare Helms and her husband, Carl; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Dayna, Adrena, Gene Bubba, Rachel, Rena, Jason, Angie; twelve great grandchildren, Haley, Olivia, Henlee, Triston, Corey, Skylee, Jonathan, Chevy, Erin, Scotty, Pagan, and Triston.


Mr. Sistare was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Sistare Efrid and Sarah Sistare Roscoe.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Sistare will be 3:00 pm Monday, April 25, 2016 at Bethlehem Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Myers. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC. and suggest memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, Lancaster County Relay for Life, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, South Carolina 29210 or to Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1841 North Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
