Obituary

LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. James Franklin Plyler, age 94, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was born November 22, 1918 in Union County, NC, the son of the late Jackson Edgar Plyler and Lillie Broome Plyler and was the husband of the late Loma Robinson Plyler. He retired from Springs Industries, was a Mason with Jackson Masonic Lodge, a Shriner with the Hejaz Temple, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Plyler was survived by two sons in law, Frank Ghent and Nathan Hall both of Lancaster, two step-grandchildren, Cheri Plyler and her husband Ronnie and Nathan Hall of Lancaster, two great grandchildren, Drewid Plyler and Jana Hough and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Plyler was preceded in death by his wife, Loma Robinson Plyler, a daughter, Linda Faye Ghent, a step-daughter, Bette Hall, two brothers, Warren Plyler and Millen Plyler, four sisters, Doris Black, Lynette Starnes, Helen Harris and Cleo Clark, and a step granddaughter, Cindy Criminger.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Plyler will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, October 19, 2013at the Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Pat McCain. Burial will follow at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The Family of Mr. Plyler will receive friends from 2:00- 3:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home and the family suggests memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1664 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
