FORT LAWN, SC::::::::: Mr. James Gaston Edwards, age 76, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born December 26, 1938 in Fort Lawn, SC, the son of the late Lucious Gaston Edwards and Hattie Yongue Edwards and was the husband of Ellen Williamson Edwards. Mr. Edwards retired from Springs Industries. He served our great country in the United States Navy and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Fort Lawn United Methodist Church and served for many years as a Trustee.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ellen Williamson Edwards; three daughters, Teresa Brown and her husband, Rick of Fort Lawn, Angie Johnson of Lancaster and Jamie Edwards Anderson of Moncks Corner; a sister, Sara Rumford and husband, John; 6 grandchildren, Cody, Kelli, Taylor, Claire, Kameron and Drew; and several nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Edwards will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 26, 2015 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Glenn Ribelin, Rev. Karen Richmond and Rev. Mike Catoe. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fort Lawn.

The Family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Fort Lawn United Methodist Church, PO Box 310, Fort Lawn, SC 29714.
