LIBERTY HILL, SC::::::::: Mr. James E. "Tom" Stroud, age 75, died Monday, December 8, 2008 at his home. He was born August 26, 1933 in Kershaw County, the son of the late Henry Stroud and Lela Robinson Stroud and was the husband of the late Clara Payne Stroud. Mr. Stroud retired from Springs Industries - Grace Plant, was a former part owner of Ole TJ's, former employee of American Wax and Lake Wateree Camp Ground. He was also a former Mason, Coach for Dixie Youth Ball, and a member and Deacon of White Bluff Baptist Church. Mr. Stroud was survived by 2 sons, John Stroud and his wife Karen and Myron Stroud and his wife Kyndra both of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Louise Sullivan and Magdelene Hunter both of Kershaw, and 7 grandchildren, Jeremy, Brad, Adam, Jake, Sean, Kaleb and Kalyn Stroud. Mr. Stroud was preceded in death by a son, Byron S. Stroud, 6 brothers, Gilbert, Fred, Bill, Thomas, Paul Jr., and Floyd Stroud and 6 sisters, Grace Phillips, Annie Bell Garris, Cora Lee Eubanks, Nannie Mae Waters, Mary Ellen Moseley and Barbara Faulkenberry. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Stroud will be 3:00pm Friday, December 12, 2008 at White Bluff Baptist Church by Rev. Doug Humphries and Rev. Todd Robinson with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Family of Mr. Stroud will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions to White Bluff Baptist Church, 3125 Duckwood Road, Kershaw, SC 29067. The Family of Mr. Stroud will be at the home of his son, John Stroud, 2764 Pineview Drive, Lancaster SC 29720.
