LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. James Thomas "Jamie" Couch, age 78, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his home. He was born July 18, 1933 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Clarence Jefferson Couch and Connie Catoe Couch and was the husband of Barbara "Bobbie" Fincher Couch. Mr. Couch retired from Lancaster Telephone Company/Comporium Communications, was a member of First Baptist Church and served our great country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Couch was also active in his community having served on the Lancaster Dixie Youth Board for 25 years, the Joint Recreation Committee, and the Lancaster County Water and Sewer District Committee. Mr. Couch is survived by his wife, Barbara "Bobbie" Couch of the home, a son, Greg Couch and his wife Stephanie of Fort Mill, a daughter, Tracey C. Lewis and her companion Chris Baker of Fort Mill, 2 brothers, Jerry Couch and his wife Pat of Florence, and Randall O. Couch and his wife Teresa of Lancaster, and 2 grandchildren, Aidan and Preston Couch. Mr. Couch was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rhonda Sue Couch and a brother, Bruce Couch. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Couch will be 11:00 am November 23, 2011 at First Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Hatcher. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Couch will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29721, or Hospice of Lancaster, 902 W.
