LANCASTER, SC ~ James Matthew Carnes, 58, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019.  He was born August 22, 1960 in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Ted Hough Carnes and Mary Funderburk Carnes. Mr. Carnes was employed with Springs Industries.  He loved to work on old cars and spending time with his mom and dad before they passed away.  Mr. Carnes was a very dependable person and enjoyed helping others.  He was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Mr. Carnes is survived by several cousins.

Mr. Carnes was preceded in death by his parents; and many aunts and uncles.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mr. Carnes will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Lancaster Memorial Park.
