LANCASTER, SC –Mr. James Vincent Blocher, age 73, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born November 2, 1950, in Homestead, PA, a son of the late James Edward Blocher and Katherine Murphy Blocher and was the husband of Linda Simonson Blocher. Mr. Blocher earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves and retired from Homeland Security. Mr. Blocher was a huge fan of Pittsburgh sports, including the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. Family was most important to him, and he loved them all dearly, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Blocher is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Blocher; his son, Christopher "Chris" Blocher (Jill); his daughter, Holly Ledford (Chris); six grandchildren, Brynn Ledford, Lily Blocher, Braden Ledford, Anna Blocher, Andrew Blocher, and Owen James Ledford; two brothers, Alan Blocher (Carol) and Michael Blocher; two sisters, Louann Peterson (Charles) and Katherine "Kitty" Blocher; and many nieces, a nephew, and cousins.

Mr. Blocher was preceded in death by his parents.

The Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 14, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.
