LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mr. James Nathan Blackmon, age 78, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at CMC-Mercy in Charlotte. He was born May 22, 1937 in Lancaster, the son of the late Joseph Blackmon and Emma Baker Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon retired from Georgia Pacific. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Flying Nightmare Squadron. He previously served as a Constable for the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. He was a former Mason, Shriner and of the Christian faith.
Mr. Blackmon is survived by two sons, Jantzen Blackmon and his wife, Beth of Greenville and Josh "Nabo" Blackmon of Lancaster; and three grandchildren, Justin Caleb Blackmon, Anna Elizabeth Blackmon and Liam Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Taylor.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Blackmon will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Lynn Hough.
