HEATH SPRINGS, SC:::::::::: Mr. James Edward Adams, Sr., age 87, of 3707 Rocky River Road, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born April 30, 1923 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Roy M. Adams and Mamie Shaw Adams and was the husband of Evelyn Hammond Adams. Mr. Adams retired from Springs Global - Grace Bleachery, was a member of Pleasant Hill ARP Church and served our great country in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Evelyn H. Adams of the home, a son, James E. "Eddie" Adams, Jr. and his wife Anita of Heath Springs, a grandson, John Manly Adams, a niece, Dotsy Gardner of Kershaw and a nephew, Charles Horton of Las Vegas. Mr. Adams was preceded by a sister, Addie Adams Clark.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Adams will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 31, 2010 at Pleasant Hill ARP Church by Rev. Dr. Dwight Pearson with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Family of Mr. Adams will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Friday, December 31, 2010 at the church fellowship hall and in lieu of flowers suggests memorials be made to Pleasant Hill ARP Church, 4383 Kershaw-Camden Hwy., Heath Springs, SC 29058.
