LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Jacqueline Jackie Adams Summers, age 74, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her home. She was born May 13, 1941 in Kershaw, a daughter of the late Arthur Benjamin Adams, Sr. and Franty Odessa Ogburn Adams and the wife of Robert Lelon Summers. Mrs. Summers retired from Springs Industries. She loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed relaxing at the beach. Mrs Summers was a member of New Cut Presbyterian Church and loved singing with the church choir.
Mrs. Summers is survived by her husband, Robert L. Summers; one son, Jim Privette of Columbia; one daughter, Josie Morgan and her husband, Michael of Myrtle Beach; two step-sons, Thomas Leland Summers and his wife, Sherri and Gregory Allan Summers and his wife, Jo of Lancaster; four brothers, Rev. Jim Adams of Kershaw, Bobby Adams and his wife, Jean of Atlanta, GA, Kenneth Adams and his wife, Polly of Kershaw and Bennie Adams and his wife, Deresa of Heath Springs; one sister, Ann Byrd and her husband, Junior of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Adam, David and Noah Privette, Dean Morgan, Betty Jo and US Air Force Major Kevin Summers; and two great grandchildren, Owen Summers and Audrey Summers.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Summers is 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 31, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Wayne Dickson and Rev. Brian Martin. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to New Cut Presbyterian Church Playground Fund, 2617 New Cut Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
