LANCASTER, SCMr. Jacky David Blalock, Jr., age 51, died Monday, March 7, 2016. He was born June 4, 1964 in Anderson, SC, a son of Linda Clough Blalock and the late Jacky David Blalock, Sr. and was the husband of Jill Anderson Blalock. Mr. Blalock retired from the South Carolina National Guard after 21 years and during this time served a 16 month tour in Iraq. He worked in commercial heating and air conditioning and was employed with CBRE. He loved animals and was a friend of Bill W. He was also an Eagle Scout, served as Assistant Chief of Goochs Fire Department and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Mr. Blalock is survived by his wife, Jill Anderson Blalock; his mother, Linda Clough Blalock; a brother, Brent William Blalock; a step-son, Mitchell Russell Collinsworth; and his maternal step grandmother, Frances Blalock all of Lancaster.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Blalock will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Tim Anderson and Rev. Charlie Simpson. Burial with military honors will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Wednesday at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to Gooches Fire Department, 1070 Hampton Grace Avenue, Lancaster, SC 29720.
